An update for the classic: The ThinkPad T460s – the unofficial flagship within the business lineup – now got a Skylake update as well. However, faster processors are not the only highlight of the 14-inch device: The 2016 model also differs quite a lot from the predecessor in other areas like the chassis, storage solution and display. We will have a close look at all of these aspects in the following review.

But we want to start with a short overview about the available configurations and their prices: In Germany, the T460s starts at around 1,400 Euros (~$1554, 20F9003SGE) with a Core i5-6200U, 4 GB DDR4-RAM and 192 GB SSD storage. Faster CPUs, more memory and other optional extras like an integrated LTE modem will quickly raise the price – 2,350 Euros (~$2609) for our loaded review model (20FA003GGE) to be precise. If possible, you should therefore make use of the heavily subsidized devices within the Lenovo Campus program (available for students and scientific employees). Apart from pre-configured models for retailers, it is also possible to customize the T460s based on your preferences in Lenovo's online shop.
