I have not been taking photos much this year. This set was taken about 2 years ago. I was visiting this zoo in middle of New South Wales, Australia. The zoo is built on a very big land. The animals have plenty of room to run around in their own area. The most special part is that there are no fences. Between the tourist and the animals there are deep trenches so that the animal won't escape. However I had my doubts watching a cheetah....
You can hire a bicycle and ride around the park. I think the loop is around 2 kilometers.
The zoo is fairly big and it is better to take the time to see everything. For 1 entry price you can go there in 2 consecutive days.

Mongolian horses. Not many in captivity as they are very clever and not easy to catch. The zoo has a herd of 20-30 horses.

No. That place is probably closed down by now. However I know what you are talking about because I have been there with my uncle when I was young. You drive your own car in. Big lions and tigers are among you. You must not open any windows. Usually they won't bother you but it is quite common that a big male lion climb up to your car's bonnet and lying down there ( just like a big pussy cat). If your car got scratched, bad luck!
I used Nikon D700 for the trip.
Lenses used include 300mm f4 and 80-200mm f2.8 for the animal shots.
The clouds shots used a 20mm f2.8, and also 35mm f2.8. The lighting changed very quickly. Just another few minutes later after the last deep red shot, the sun went down and the clouds became grey and not nice anymore.
