When I was small and living in HK, I never had the opportunity to go to Macau. After seeing some other C-Hing posting, I suddenly remember that I went there in 2009. I was going to China and picked Macau as the entry point. I arrived late at night, and the next flight is 24 hours away. So I went around and be a tourist for a day.
For equipment I used Nikon D700, with 18-35mm f3.5/4.5 lens. A very light weight combination and not too obvious.
Macau felt strange to me. It is all Asian, Cantonese speaking, yet felt very foreign to me. Honestly I even felt the local is somewhat hostile to tourist. The best way to go around is by all the free Casino bus. I only took one taxi trip.
I went to the Fisherman's Wharf first.
There is a "China City" building, but I don't know what is inside.
Of course, this place is a must to visit
End up in the Venetian Casino. I don't gamble so only took some photos and ate there.
That day was actually quite nice, not many tourist where I went. I was by myself so I could take time walking around and take photos. By that night, a very different story. I need to go across the border to Zhu Hai and then to Zhu Hai airport. There were tens of thousands of China residence in the border check point. Very nervous time with my luggage and a very obvious target for con-man.
