唔洗買啦掛 ?

I saw some Hollywood high end photography training video last night, they use the light meter to adjust the light rather use the histogram in the camera . It is a lot faster and more accuracy. Most commend they recommend use the Sekonic product...

以老餅個人經驗, 每部相機的測光都各自有其偏向.
我們在恆定的光源時(如在影樓內拍照)會先以測光錶測光, 而因應每部相機的特性或個人相片風格作調整.
測光錶是以點位測光, 對光(燈)佈局時有很大幫助, 例如燈箱的輸出量. 如師兄用閃燈時是ETTL Mode則沒有關係.

Sekonic meters are good. Many of the old pros uses them. But pending on the photography you are doing, most will use only on what is in camera as most time are good enough unless you want to do pro product shoot inside a studio. In the older days, there is not much PS and or computer editing used so setting up lighting is most important on a job. Because if one is wrong, by the time the film is developed and test printed days may have wasted. Hence a light meter is used to help. But to effectively use a light meter, one have to learn it as each setting gives different effects. So before you spend the money, make sure you know what you are doing as a good meter can cost as much as a camera!! But if you still want one, Sekonic digitals with a spot metering function would be recommended as that would last you a long long time plus it will do photo and video. check their web site.  Hope this help you a bit.

I use the ETTL flash, thanks for your knowledge share. It is very good information.

- Sekonic is good
- Light Receiving Method of light meter can be: Incident light and reflected light. But DSLR only support reflected light metering
- Many standalone light meter support metering mode of flash light (instead of only Ambient light)
- if you use E-TTL, better use your own camera light metering, beasue you need the camera to control the TTL light power output
- if you use standalone light meter, turn your flash light to manual mode

if you using manual flash control..
light meter is much easy to measure how many light on subject
go youtube and sreach adorama tv..there have some video for photo tech..and teach you how to choose the right light meter for you

To answer the poster's question, I use a Sekonic 358 ( and a 328 before) and a Minolta Spotmeter F, mainly for my Hasselblad V system.   Minolta and many other brands 已乘風歸去. but Sekonic is still around.
I used the Sekonic mainly for the Incident Light mode, much better than the in camera meters.  It is also useful for flashes.

香港常見都係得 Sekonic 呢個牌子。

如果影打燈佈局，有測光錶真係方便好多，唔洗張張試。如影產品，閑閑地用 2-3 支燈，仲要支支光度唔同，用佢 set 快過張張試好多。即使用幾支閃燈都係同一情況。

但假如係日常影相 / 一燈大師，加埋測光錶個價錢唔平（接近 2k 入門），結果都係用返相機內置測光系統算了。
