You should know Dell for its PC especially in corporate segment. Now its founder is offering to buy back his company he found in his dorm room in order to reshape it into a Datacenter, Mobile and Services company. Now he is facing BlackStone's counter buyout. See what it goes. Bottom line is that you can still buy a Big and Cheap Dell machine online.

一部二手賽揚筆記本, 最少都六年前買;
一部二手Centrino notebook, 最少都三年前買;
數下數下仲有部二手 i5 (用緊呢部) notebook, 應該都有成年囉!
最後部PD台機, 應該有兩年幾...

HP的Quality其實唔錯。
但收購合併Compaq之後嗰年就要賭運氣，
唔知系唔系同Compaq的倉底貨有關

Compaq嗰時仲好過HP
我都仲有唔知兩部定三部Compaq notebook喺倉度.
唔知仲踼唔踼得著呢?

但家下就...
某機構仲用緊compaq digital unix,
parts全部係refurbished嘢.
問佢有冇打算revamp做其他platform,
佢就黑面同好想打我一鑊甘咁樣樣.

如果同老細講, 即系向佢荷包開刀.
如果同IT HEAD講, 佢份工,可能系靠部機MAINTENANCE KEEP 住.

In business world, company tend to use DELL, I am hoping to see difference in the coming years, as a lot of huge corporate switching to apple, but find that apple is not very user friendly in a corporate point of view, in short, coming few years we will see a drop in apply sales and switching back to those old standard machine like DELL/Lenovo/HP

On one hand, there's no doubt that most companies use/tend to use DELL.
I believe it's because the performance-to-price ratio is relatively higher.

On the other hand, I don't think it's the user-friendliness, from a corporate's point view, effecting
the procurement decision of Apple's desktop or server products. I believe it would be relatively difficult
to find IT professional to develop and support Apple's desktop or server products.

Though I have PCs and notebooks of all 3 major brands, I believe people will be loyal to the brand
that they used to use 'coz it would save them time to explain to superior why they propose to switch
to other brands, and thus it would avoid risks in being blame for worse quality of service and products
from switched brand(s), wouldn't it?

One more thing...
I have been using Apple's desktop Macs and notebooks for decades.
Yes, the availability of development tools on Mac cannot match with that on Windows or even Linux/Unix.
But I still love to use them.

I once suffered from "dreamwalk", let's guess which machine I did turn on when I was "dreamwalking".
