Well IBM servers are no longer popular most have moved to HP now. Lots of government departments will no longer use IBM the same reason they won't use huawei gears, scared that virus or spyware are installed on the device and etc.

Hope are did the right move Lenovo. PC is also a shrinking market so as servers with virtual machine and cloud based computing there will be less and less physical machines out there. So IBM are not stupid. You make more money from selling service than hardware. Just move the operation to the cheapest country to provide service.

中國最成功喺乜？追多支持者又喺乜？中國最多落後國家支持，買左返嚟；平賣或作外交禮物送比啲第三國家，好睇好用（喺硬件裝哂啲監聽系統）果班友有乜依郁都早就知哂。

IBM要賣幾多SERVER先賺到23億？有錢袋落袋，去開發新科技咪算咯，其實過去十幾年IBM喺後面靜雞雞都做左好多科研，唔喺股價邊會有咁好。

PUBLIC CLOUD 好多 RESTRICTION,
而家開始有的企業轉用 PRIVATE CLOUD.

But this is only the x86!lines not aix or deep blue those will not be sold to Chinese company the us congress will not allowed it. X86 market is a ever shrinking market.

True this is only valid for 1st world country emerging and developing market will have to use Lenovo so there are still money to be made as yyhbut say it will take IBM ages to make 2.3 billions from selling servers quicker to cash it in and up buy the next big thing

Well my work hasn't moved to cloud yet but I know a few largish company has started to do so to trim cost. But it is a risky business as once you loose both primary and backup connection you are completely down.

Cloud is convenient and cost effective, but security and control is a serious concern.

  A couple of years ago I was taking up a project which is an information system with multiple country clients
Instead of using vpn and sql, we decided to use a middle ware to form an application server, making the system web based and could be accessed on a worldw

wide basis. Any browser coould gain access to  the Oracle.

There was a second phase of the project turning the single
server into cluster but shame it is never realized.
