Yes, Cisco bought Linksys at 2003.

Now all Linksys products sold were packaged and branded as "Linksys by Cisco"
But Cisco planned to kill the independent Linksys brand.

不太正確!  美國在1996年之前是一條法例禁止 high encryption technology 出口.
今天2011,這條法例只適用於某些國家例如 北韓,  伊朗, 古巴等等

In the old days Netscape (Mozilla’s)  had two versions” 128 bit for US and 40 bit for non US.
Even MS Outlook had a 40 bit version and 128 Bit version.

PGP’s (Pretty Good Privacy) Author Phil Zimmermann's made a (successful) challenge to the law by publishing the source code in 1991. (Illegal to export the Software (in 1991) but legal to export the source code!!!)
Soon there were other challenges and in 1996 Bill Clinton signed an executive order to relax the export control.

Today Militarized encryption equipment still requires an export licence but non-military cryptography can be freely exported to most countries.

However there are still people who would prefer to use non US encryption technology software for fear of a backdoor being inserted by NSA.

I heard that and the solution is to add this pieces of source code back and re-compiled by user to become a 128 bit ver of Lanscape. Funny.

Sorry Matey my Cisco knowledge (which can be summarized on the back of a postage stamp) limited to Cisco 2811 and Cisco 1841. And I had some help with configuring these.
I used Sonic Wall more because it is cheaper and easier to conifgure.

Have you tried using Smoothwall  (unless of course your intension isto  practice  Ciso's configuring language.).

Smoothwall is great; free (runs on 486 ) and easy to setup. Ideal for home and small business.

i have one running on a p4 celeron 2.0a with 2 lan cards

if your pc is powerful enough then you can try running cisco routers in emulation mode to really process and router the traffic from other pcs on your network

Thank for your suggestion!

I search for Smoothwall and found that it is a Linux base system, and I have zero knowledge on Linux

And it needs an PC (even a 486!) to run the system which is a problem for me. I have an old PC but  no space to keep that old big box by the broadband inlet.....

No problem with Linux as Smoothwall has a graphical interface to setup and configure. You can download a cdrom ISO image (SmoothWall Express 3.0 SP3 Released – 1st June 2011, burn it on CD and use it as a bootable CD to boot (so you also need a CDROM to setup the box).
Also get the setup guide and the Admin Guide. Setup can be done in less than 30 mins if you use sometime like a 586/166 256Mb RAM and th 40G Harddisk.  (486 will run but setup will be slower esp if it is an old harddisk.)
The only bit of Linix you see is on startup (after you've installed it).  The only bit of Linux knowledge you need is "Root is the Admin user id"!. (Also with Linux being a major force in Enterprise IT ; it will only help one's career by having some knowledge in Linux. and BTW Linux is a child of Unix; if you know Unix than thats is more than enough) YOU WOULDN"T KNOW IT IS a LINUX BOX.

As with old PC you can get HP/Dell   PC in   New golden Arcade or Ab Liu Street in ShampshuiPo for a few hundred dollars.  You need a PC where you can put an extra network card (i.e. at least two network connects; three if you want full feature)
Once setup you don't even need a screen or keyboard attached.

If you are still looking for an Old Cisco box check out New Golden Arcade... one block towards  the slopes from Golden Arcade.
There is also a shop in Ab Liu Street which sells old(er) computer equipment.

A System Consultant:  welcome.

Hope you don;t mind a bit of  IT humour.

Definition of Consultant:

Someone who borrows your watch to tell you the time and then charge you for it.

Cisco is really KING in the Enterprise market.  In fact I suspect the only reason why they have a presence in the low/mid markets is to catch new customers when they are small and hope you grow with them.  The basic Cisco box is not expensive but if you add all the optionals then it becomes quite pricecy for small firms.

I didn't know CISCO even has home entertainment products until they announced they are getting out of that market .
(They make Flip-cameras!!!)

Cisco is currently being targeted by EFF  for selling Network equipments to China to intercept dissidents's (eg Du Daobin) emails

Quote from EFF's petition
Reports indicate that networking giant Cisco Systems has been knowingly selling Internet surveillance and censorship tools to the Chinese government for years. These tools have enabled China to spy on its citizens, and may have been customized to target individuals who are working to protect human rights and build democracy in China.  The Chinese government reportedly detained and interrogated Du Daobin, a dissident writer, specifically about a lawsuit he and other Chinese dissidents brought against Cisco. In June 2011, the activists sued Cisco and a number of Cisco executives in the United States District Court in Maryland for their "knowing and willful aiding and abetting of the Chinese government's harassment, arrest, and torture of Chinese political activists."
