After looking at the photos taken by film, I think it boils down to lighting, exposure and contrast. Some photos there was a big contrast between dark / bright area. The FM3 has a strong centre-weighted pattern so you need to think where your are exposing to achieve what you want.
To make the trees greener I would use a LINEAR polariser for more consistent result. Cir-Pol are needed for AF system but I hate the inconsistent result esp wide angle lens with the sky.
Some of the scene are taken in mid-day time so the lighting, colour temperature is off. Color temp you need filter to compensate. Harsh shadow - it is the timing of the shot.
Film needs a little slower approach, focus, compose, exposure.. Just a few extra seconds per shot.
I still have my Nikon FE - still works perfectly well. My first SLR.
My fav film SLR is my F90. At that time it really make most of my photos come out perfectly exposed. |
