Lenovo has quietly announced a range of ultra-portable Android tablets today at the Mobile World Congress. The tablets launched are the 7-inch A1000 and the A3000 and the 10-inch S6000 tablet.
The 7-inch A1000 is aimed at first-time tablet users and sports a 7-inch screen and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. The tablet also supports Dolby Digital Audio that enhances the audio output, not normally seen in a mid-range tablet. It runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, has 16GB of internal storage and a microSD slot for cards up to 32GB. The tablet will be available in black and white color variants.
The A3000 aims at delivering good performance through a 1.2GHz quad-core MTK processor. The tablet is 11mm thick, weighs in at less than 340 grams and sports a 7-inch (1024×600 pixels) screen. It too will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and will have 16GB internal storage with a microSD slot for cards up to 64GB additional storage. The A3000 also comes with optional 3G HSPA+ support.
The S6000, on the other hand, is meant for power users and will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core MTK 8389/8125 processor. The tablet is 8.6mm thick, weighs 560 grams and sports a 10.1-inch IPS (1280×800 pixels) display and includes a battery that the company claims will last for more than 8 hours. Other features included are an optional HSPA+ support and connectivity options like a micro HDMI port.
